Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring the consistent and accurate batching of ready mix concrete, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality production process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate the batch plant to produce ready mix concrete according to job specifications and company standards.
- Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of concrete mix designs to ensure accurate batching.
- Monitor plant controls, scales, and equipment to ensure proper batching and material consistency.
- Perform dispatching responsibilities such as order entry and direct communication with customers as needed.
- Effectively communicate with drivers to direct them to jobsites and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, and customers for timely delivery of concrete.
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly inspections and routine maintenance on batching, material handling, and support equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures to ensure the safety of self and crew at all times. Use required PPE when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of production, materials, inspections, and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality control procedures.
- Assist with yard organization, stockpile management, and housekeeping.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a batch plant operator required.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience operating a front end loader a plus.
- Ready mix truck driving experience preferred; CDL a plus.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with team members.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends as needed.
